Network and Environment Prerequisites
Overview
The CloudAIPilot dashboard works in any modern browser, but certain network conditions — particularly corporate firewalls and privacy extensions — can interfere with real-time features. This article covers what you need to have in place before you start.
Supported browsers
CloudAIPilot supports all current versions of the following browsers:
- Google Chrome (recommended)
- Chromium-based browsers (Brave, Arc, Edge, Opera, Vivaldi)
- Mozilla Firefox
- Apple Safari
- Microsoft Edge
Internet Explorer is not supported. Very old versions of any browser (released before 2020) may have issues with the SSH terminal and real-time progress views.
WebSocket requirement
CloudAIPilot uses WebSocket connections (wss://) for several real-time features:
- The Activity Center — live progress updates for provisioning, deployments, backups, and restores
- The SSH terminal
- Live server metrics in the Monitoring view
If your network or browser blocks WebSocket connections, these features will not work. The rest of the dashboard (viewing servers, managing sites, configuring settings) continues to work normally via standard HTTPS.
If you are on a corporate or university network and the Activity Center shows no live updates, ask your IT team to allow WebSocket connections to cloudaipilot.com.
Browser extensions
Strict content-blocking or ad-blocking extensions occasionally block API calls made by the dashboard. If a page fails to load data or the AI Pilot chat does not respond, try disabling your extensions for the cloudaipilot.com domain.
Server firewall requirements (for imported servers)
When you provision a new server through CloudAIPilot, the platform automatically configures the cloud provider's firewall to allow inbound SSH (port 22) from CloudAIPilot's IP addresses.
If you are importing an existing server that you manage yourself, you must manually open port 22 on that server's firewall to CloudAIPilot's published IP ranges before the import can complete. CloudAIPilot needs SSH access to install and configure the management agent.
